What is a BOSSMAMA?

The word BOSSMAMA is equal parts boss and mama. It celebrates the dual roles that many women hold as workplace leaders and parents. It seeks to make visible the strengths that they bring to work from other areas of their lives, including family and home leadership.

As we move from a model of work/life separation to an “always on” mode mediated by technology, employers need to appreciate that the demands of work/life integration flow both ways. Goodbye hidden parents, hello visible BOSSMAMAS (and PAPAS) that bring their whole selves – and sometimes their kids – to work.
